Plan your load
In industrial transport, the details of the load matter more than anything else, because a mistake in weight or size can mean the wrong vehicle, extra cost or an unsafe journey. The more information you give us at the time of booking, the better the vehicle and the loading plan will fit your consignment.
- The weight and size of the heaviest and the largest item in the consignment
- The type of packing, such as loose goods, cartons, bags, drums, pallets or wooden crates
- Whether loading needs a forklift, crane, ramp or dock at the pick-up and delivery points, and who will arrange it
- The timings of loading and unloading, and any gate pass, entry permission or safety rules at your factory or the customer's premises
- Whether the goods are sensitive to rain, moisture or shock and need covering or special positioning
Loading and securing heavy goods
Heavy machinery and dense goods must be loaded so that their weight is balanced over the axles of the truck, and so that they cannot shift under braking and on bends. Our loaders use proper ropes, chains, wooden blocks and wedges to secure the goods, cover them with tarpaulin where required, and check the load again before the vehicle leaves. For delicate machines and instruments, we add padding and keep the goods in an upright and stable position.
Documents
For business goods, the invoice and, where applicable, the e-way bill must be ready before the truck leaves the loading point, and the GST numbers of the sender and the receiver must be correct. Please keep the consignee's full address and contact number ready, since wrong or incomplete details can delay the delivery. Our team will remind you of the documents when you book, so nothing is forgotten on the day.
Full load or part load
If your goods fill a whole vehicle, a full truck load gives you a dedicated vehicle with fixed loading and delivery. If you send smaller quantities, a part truck load can reduce the cost, as you pay only for the space used. For regular dispatches, tell us your usual pattern, such as weekly or monthly quantities and destinations, and we can plan pick-ups in advance.
