Moving your car to another city
When a family relocates to another city, the car is one of the biggest questions in the plan. Driving it for hundreds of kilometres means taking leave from work, spending on fuel, tolls, food and hotels, adding wear and tear to the car, and carrying some risk of breakdown or accident on an unfamiliar highway. Car transport by road solves this problem by letting your car travel on a carrier while you travel in comfort by train, flight or bus, and meet your car at the other end in the same condition in which you handed it over. Many people book it together with their household goods, so that the car and the furniture reach the new city around the same time and the move is complete in one go.
How we handle your car
A car is a valuable and sensitive item, and the way it is loaded and secured decides whether it reaches safely. Our team uses proper loading practices, secures each wheel and the body of the car on the carrier with straps so that it cannot move during the journey, and takes care that the car is not touched by other vehicles on the carrier. The condition of the car is noted at loading, and you can compare it when you take the delivery at the other end.
- Tell us about your car. Give us the make and model, the pick-up and delivery cities and your preferred dates.
- Receive the quote. We give you a clear quote and explain the type of carrier and the arrangements for the pick-up and delivery.
- Inspection at loading. On the loading day, the car is inspected together with you or your representative, and any existing scratches, dents or damages are noted.
- Loading and securing. The car is driven on to the carrier carefully and fixed with straps and wedges.
- Delivery and handover. At the destination, the car is unloaded carefully, and you check it against the inspection note before you accept it.
Before you hand over your car
A few simple steps taken before loading protect you and make the handover smooth. Please do not leave any valuable items in the car, as the carrier is not a place for luggage, and remember that personal belongings left inside can be lost or damaged and are not usually covered.
- Take clear photographs of every side of the car, including the roof, bonnet, bumpers, interior and the odometer, with the date visible if possible
- Remove valuables and loose items from the inside, including the music system face, parking cards, toll tags that you want to keep, accessories and documents
- Keep only a small amount of fuel in the tank, as advised by our team, and make sure the battery is in working condition
- Keep a copy of the registration certificate, insurance papers and your identity proof with you, as these may be needed at loading and at delivery
- Check your own motor insurance policy and ask your insurer what it covers while the car is being transported on a carrier

Points to remember
Car transport is an arrangement based on trust, so choose a company that is open about what it does, gives you the terms clearly in writing and answers your questions patiently. Ask about insurance, ask what happens in case of damage, and ask who will be present at the delivery.
