1. Carry less
Sell, donate or throw away what you no longer need. Every item you remove reduces the volume and, therefore, the cost.
2. Choose the right vehicle
A truck that is too big costs more, and one that is too small means a second trip. Give your mover an accurate list, so that the right vehicle is chosen.
3. Consider a part load
If you have only a few rooms of goods, a part truck load costs less than a whole truck, as you pay only for the space you use.

If you need to send a car or bike, ask whether it can go with your household goods, which is often cheaper than separate transport.
12. Do not compromise on safety
Packing material and trained labour protect your goods. Saving a little on these can cost much more in damage.
